There are a number of reasons someone may be looking to move their ADHD diagnosis to a new provider. These reasons can include:
- Difficulty obtaining appointments or prescription renewals from your current psychiatrist
- Your current psychiatrist has died, retired, or closed to their practice
- You got a diagnosis from a psychologist and did not realise this would not give you access to meds, and now you need a prescribing psychiatrist
Moving from one provider to another this way is known as a Transfer of Care. A Transfer of Care is only possible if you have a diagnostic report from your psychologist or your prior psychiatrist. (Very unfortunately, if you do not have a diagnostic report, you will need to start all over again from the beginning with a fresh assessment and diagnosis. That’s why the 4 Step Guide makes a big deal about getting your report.)

Not on Meds Yet
Providers who will accept a transfer if you have a diagnostic report and have not started meds include:
- ADHDdoc €1000 (Consultation €600, 1st review €200, 2nd and 3rd €100 each)
- ADHD Global Care €1025 (Consultation €425, three reviews at €200 each)
- ADHD Now €956 (Consultation €89, three reviews at €289 each)
- Health Hero* €900 (Consultation €360, three reviews at €180 each)
- Medic Online €760 (Consultation €400, three reviews at €120 each)
- MindBridge €900 (Consultation €450, three reviews at €150 each)
On Stable Meds
If you have a diagnostic report and are on stable meds, the costs should be lower. All of the above providers should accept a Transfer of Care, but you will need to contact them individually as only the following provide pricing specifically for this:
- ADHD Now (€339)
- MindBridge (€450)
Additional Costs
Typically your psychiatrist and or your GP will require periodic review of your medication with your prescribing psychiatrist, even if you are stable. Some patients also have their medication prescribed directly by their psychiatrist. Both of these costs for all providers are listed on the ADHD Clinics Cost Comparison.
